frequently asked questions
How do I place a card order? For holiday cards, you may use the online design form or e-mail me to get started.
Will I see a proof before my order is printed? Yes. One proof and minor revision are included in every order. Proofs are sent via e-mail. Approval is required for printing to begin.
Can I make changes to a proof? Yes. This is the time to double check spelling and make minor adjustments. Major changes such as changing the photograph or design will be subject to a $25 change fee.
Can I make changes once I have approved the proof? Once a proof is approved, printing begins. Your approval of a proof assumes full acceptance of all design and typographical content. Any change after printing requires a reprint at the client's expense. If there is a mistake in the finished product due to my oversight, I will absolutely reprint for no charge.
Who takes the photograph? You...or ask a friend! I have some photography tips that might help you. I also use my Photoshop skills to enhance every image. {Note: I love working with professional images, but you are responsible for getting consent from your photographer. I will gladly give credit to the studio or photographer on the back of the card.}
How do I pay? I accept personal checks made out to LLH Designs.
Do you ship? Yes. I use Priority Mail Flat Rate, which usually runs between $5 and $15 depending upon the size of the flat rate box needed for your order. Houston clients usually pick up at my home studio, though shipping is an option.
How long does a custom order take? 5 to 10 business days (depending on how many orders are ahead of yours). Typical print time AFTER proof is approved: 7-10 business days.
Can I expedite my order? Yes. A rush fee of 25% of your total order will apply. Another way to speed up the process on your end is to request the envelopes at the time you place your order so that you can begin addressing them.
Can I reorder? It’s always best to order a few more cards than you think you’ll need, but if your list grows after your order is complete, you may reorder a minimum of 25 at a time. {Please note: Smaller quantities cost more per card than larger quantities.}
What about stationery? I am no longer designing personalized stationery, but I do sell everyday stationery {non-personalized items} out of my home. I try to host an Open House in early December and early May. I hope to re-open an online shop with these items in 2012.
